In early March, The Music Association Sunshine Coast (MASC) hosted a forum for discussion and understanding in regards to live music and issues arising from the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulations (OLGR) policy and legislation.

The forum was held at the Sands Tavern on March 2, 2010 and was facilitated by Clare Edwards. The panel consisted of Dimitris Limnatitis (MASC), Harii Bandhu (MASC), Michael Gifford (Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation), Bevan McGarrick (Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation), Danny Nixon-Smith (Caloundra RSL), Les Evans (Noosa Surf Club), Darren Terlich (Liquor Licensing Specialist), and Matthew Jones (Liquor Licensing Specialist).

The objective of the meeting was to discuss how the Sunshine Coast music industry and OLGR can build trust, learn from past mistakes and move forward in a collaborative way to keep live music on the Sunshine Coast.

Ongoing meetings will be held and updates will be posted on this website from time to time.

Eumundi Live Music Festival - March 29, 2010

EUMUNDI LIVE FESTIVAL – CALL OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS
The Eumundi Live Music Festival will take place on the weekend of May 15 -16. Organised by MASC, the festival will be held in conjunction with the Australian Body Art Carnival and will see the streets of Eumundi come alive with a colourful extravaganza  of art, music and performance.

Dick Caplick Park will play host to free entertainment including school bands and community groups. Buskers and street performers will be invited to perform in Lonergan Lane.

The promotion and exposure of our local musicians is a key motivation for the establishment of the Eumundi Live Festival. Naturally, MASC will seek high quality national acts to assist in attracting a wider audience but will aim to have a high percentage of local content.

MASC’s long term vision is to see Eumundi Live grow alongside the Australian Body Art Carnival, presenting a high-class multi-faceted festival experience that offers a platform for our local musicians and artists.

Any members interested in volunteering to assist in the organisation of the festival please contact Harii Bandhu on 0419 108 801 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
